Social work program accredited by CSWE for eight more years.

July 09, 2015

Ursuline College’s social work program has been reaccredited for another eight years by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).

According to Gina Messina-Dysert, the Dean of the School of Graduate and Professional Studies, “CSWE recognized that the Social Work Program is distinct, collaborative and offers students an opportunity to become strong and well informed practitioners in the field.”

According to the organization’s website, CSWE is a nonprofit national organization that represents both individual members and undergraduate and graduate programs. The CSWE is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation as the only accrediting agency for social work education in the United States.

Sister Kathleen Cooney, co-leader of the Social Work Program, said, “We feel reinvigorated and renewed because of all who have recognized the quality of our graduates. An eight-year renewal of accreditation by the Council on Social Work Education enriches the career choices of our majors for licensure, graduate school and employment. Ursuline is a name recognized for quality social work education in the community.”
