Sophomore Receives Outstanding Finance and Accounting Student Award

April 07, 2016

Ursuline sophomore accounting student, Roslyn Ng recently received the Outstanding Finance and Accounting Student Award from the Northeast Ohio Chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI). In order to receive the award, Ng had to have an overall GPA ranking her in the top 5% of her graduating class and must have demonstrated personal traits showing leadership and related qualifications necessary for a successful career as a financial executive.

In addition to being a stellar student, Ng is also a member of Ursuline's tennis team. Playing singles for the first time last year, she ended the season with a 7-2 record. She won the G-MAC Conference Freshman of the Year honor and was named to the G-MAC Women's Tennis All-Conference Team.

Included in receiving the award, The Northeast Ohio Chapter will recognize Ng at the organization's board meeting on April 12 at Progressive Field. Ng will receive $100 from the Northeast Ohio Chapter of FEI, a certificate of academic achievement from the national office of FEI, inclusion of her resume in a packet distributed to FEI members and a one-year subscription to a financial periodical.

Area colleges and universities were invited to nominate business students for this award. FEI is a professional association for corporate finance executives with chapters located across the United States and Canada. FEI members are the Chief Financial Officers or senior financial executives from both public and private sector companies, as well as government/service organizations and academia. The association's members are committed to supporting outstanding local talent who share an interest in the finance and accounting professions.
