Faculty Members Honored

Elisha Dumser, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Art History and Ursuline Studies, and Sr. Cynthia Glavac, OSU, Ph.D., Professor of English and Ursuline Studies, were honored by Ohio Magazine in its December 2011 issue as “Excellence in Education Honorees”.

Nominee Information:
Sr. Cynthia Glavac has been teaching at Ursuline College for 20 years. During her career she has done extensive curriculum development and uses feedback to improve each course she teaches. Student accolades include: “Sr. Cindy loves what she teaches; she is very enthusiastic about the material.”

Elisha Dumser de-emphasizes lecture and encourages group discussion in order to facilitate and guide her students’ learning. One individual noted that “being her student is like experiencing a travelogue through history”. She is currently writing her own book, Architecture of Maxentius in Rome.
