December 09, 2014
Ursuline College senior Bea Indurain has been named this season's first Great Midwest Athletic Conference Women's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week, the conference office announced Monday (Dec. 8) afternoon. Indurain also won the award on Feb. 4, 2014.
She was recognized for her performances at the Youngstown State University Icebreaker Meet on Friday (Dec. 5) and Case Western Reserve University's Spartan Holiday Classic on Saturday (Dec. 6).
On Friday, Indurain won the 60 meter hurdles event and set a school record with an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 8.84. She also set a new school record in the long jump (5.31 meters) when she came in fourth in the field of 31 participants.
She continued the tremendous start to her final season by setting two more school records at the Spartan Holiday Classic. Indurain cleared 10.63 meters to win the triple jump and establish a new school record before running the fastest 55 meter hurdles time (8.40) ever by an Arrow when she won the prelims before sitting out the finals.
Indurain also took third in the 55 meter dash (behind teammates Tori Abdul and Keyana Roberts) with a time of 7.60, slotting her fifth in program history in that event.
