October 07, 2014
The NCAA released its national statistical rankings for fall sports on Monday night and Ursuline College was well-represented.
After the soccer’s team recent four-match winning streak, during which the Arrows outscored their opponents 23-0, senior forward Paige Rowan leads all of Division II with 15 goals scored. North Alabama’s Chloe Richards is right behind her with 14.
Junior forward Vanessa Consiglio leads the nation in assists with 13 and no other player in the country has more than nine. Consiglio already has 27 career assists – seven more than any other player who has worn the Blue and Gold – and she still has the rest of this season and all of 2015.
Rowan also leads Division II in points with 32 and Consiglio is tied with Richards for second with 31.
As a team, Ursuline is fourth in the country in scoring offense at 3.55 goals per game. Eckerd College (5-3) leads Division II with 4.00 goals per game. The Tritons won their first three matches by a combined score of 24-0.
In volleyball, sophomore Emily Adkinson leads the nation in hitting percentage (.468). She has 123 kills (2.51 per set) and just 20 errors in 220 total attacks.
Senior setter Molly Hilfinger is ranked 74th in assists with 9.57 per set.
With a record of 11-2, the Arrows are tied for 23rd nationally in winning percentage (.846).
