Winter Art Invitational II Exhibit

January 16, 2015
Location: Wasmer Gallery

Twenty-two regional artists will present their masterful work in the show which kicks off with an Opening Reception on Friday, November 14, 5 to 9 PM in the Florence O’Donnell Wasmer Gallery.

The exhibit features contemporary work from some of the region’s most exciting artists including Ursuline alumnae. Their work encompasses a wide-range of media including drawings, paintings, original prints, mixed media and ceramics. Many of the participating artists will attend the reception.

This exhibit showcases a display of nearly 100 nativity sets from Mrs. Tremaglio’s private collection that began nearly 40 years ago. The range in styles and designs reflects cultures in the United States, Africa, Europe and South America. Viewers can see the creative use of materials from wood and stone carvings, wool, metal and ceramics. “The uplifting theme, the rich textures, exciting techniques and the vivid color palettes in all of the work in the Winter Art Invitational II are certain to delight and fascinate a variety of age-groups and cultures,” said Anna Arnold, director of Wasmer Gallery. Ms. Arnold will also create colorful temporary display settings for many of the nativities.
