Volunteer Day

October 07, 2017

Oct. 7
8:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
Imagine what we could accomplish together!

On October 7, Ursuline College hosts its 7th annual College Volunteer Day, bringing together  alumnae, students, trustees, faculty and staff to serve the community through active participation in various agencies. The Ursuline College Alumnae Association provides transportation for this one-day opportunity.

This year our volunteer sites are:
  • MedWish (sorting and packing medical supplies)
  • PetFix (clinic cleaning)
  • Hospice of Western Reserve (cleaning and clerical work)
  • Warrensville Heights Library (yard work)
  • Bellefaire JCB (painting and sanding benches; must be 21 or older)
  • Ozanam Food Pantry (distributing food and clothing to clients)
  • Habitat for Humanity Re-Store
All volunteers are invited to assemble at the Pilla Student Learning Center at 8:00 a.m. for a light breakfast and group transportation to the volunteer sites.

Mandala Dedication
After volunteering, you will be transported back to Pilla and invited to participate in brief 12:30 p.m. dedication ceremony of the new Tree Mandala to be planted at the southeast corner of campus. This publicly visible, earth-based art installation was funded in part the residents of Cuyahoga County through a public grant from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture as one element in a series of events celebrating the 50th anniversary of Ursuline College’s move to Pepper Pike. The trees will grow and be pruned over the decades in celebration of the College’s relationship with Pepper Pike and of human relationships with all of God’s creation. Thus the installation is titled “All Our Relations.”

Dedication ceremony speakers will be Art Department Chair Sister Diane Therese Pinchot, OSU, MFA; Ursuline College President Sister Christine De Vinne, OSU, PhD; and Pepper Pike Mayor Richard Bain.
After the dedication ceremony, please return to Pilla for a community lunch.
