Student Leadership Conference

February 20, 2010

Do you want to become a better leader? Do you want more experience on your resume? Then the Ursuline College Leadership Conference is for you! The conference will be held Saturday, February 20, from 9:30-2:45, in the Pilla Student Learning Center and offers you a chance to become a better leader on campus and beyond. Topics of discussion range from "Learning how not to fail," "Leading effectively," "Finding your voice through actions," and many more. Presenters were selected for their leadership qualities throughout the campus and the community.

Key note speaker Tameka L. Taylor, Ph.D. is a partner and consultant of Compass Consulting Services, LLC located in Cleveland, Ohio. Prior to this, she worked at The Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio where she served the organization for almost 14 years and for the last several years as Vice President & Director of Leadership Development. She earned her undergraduate degree from Baldwin-Wallace College, her Master’s Degree from Bowling Green State University, and her Ph.D. from Kent State University. She is an experienced facilitator who specializes in pointed discussions on diversity issues (race, religion, socioeconomics, and physical ability) for both youth and adults on topics such as communication, team building, anti-bullying, facilitation skills, and conflict management.

Ursuline College students can attend the conference for free. Students from other schools and any guests cost $5.
