Please Watch Your Step: Challenges in Preventing Falls

February 03, 2015
Location: Beachwood Family Health Center

Nurses play a pivotal role in the prevention of unintentional falls.

One in three adults over age 65 fall each year. Injuries sustained in unintentional falls present serious risks. Of those who fall, 20 to 30 percent suffer moderate to severe injuries that make it hard for them live independently while increasing their risk of early death.
At this conference, attendees will gain knowledge of assessments they can utilize to identify patients who are at risk of falling, strategies to reduce fall risks and the role of vestibular physical therapists in improving patient stability.
