The Good Friday Gospel: The Passion According to John
George Matejka, Ph.D. Professor of Philosophy, Chair of Philosophy

On Palm Sunday the Church annually rotates the reading of the passion of Jesus according to the three synoptic gospels – Matthew, Mark, and Luke. However, the Church reads the passion according to John every Good Friday. We will discover that John’s passion narrative is quite distinctive. Our goal will be to better understand this distinctiveness by comparing John’s passion narrative with those of Matthew, Mark and Luke.
