Victoria Tifft to Deliver Ursuline College's Commencement Speech

President and CEO of Clinical Research Management, Inc. (CRM) Victoria Tifft is set to deliver Ursuline College’s May 21st commencement address. The event takes place 7-9pm, Allen Theatre, Playhouse Square, 1501 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland. Graduates and their families may also attend the Baccalaureate Mass, that same day, at 11am in the Chapel of the Most Holy Trinity in Merici Hall.

“Commencement is a significant and memorable event for our students and their families and having Victoria as the keynote speaker adds to the excitement,” said Ursuline President Sister Diana Stano, OSU, Ph.D. Stano said Tifft is an excellent role model who can offer words of empowerment and encourage the recent graduates to achieve their goals.

Tifft, whose talk is entitled A Life of Service, hopes to inspire Ursuline’s graduates to always be involved, in some way, with their community. She strongly believes that every person and every company should contribute what they can to improve society. Tifft strongly supports the idea of both volunteering time and donating money to her community, her and the CRM staff personally serve on, or volunteer in, numerous state, county, and community volunteer groups, as well as educational and steering committees.

Founded by Tifft and her husband in 1992, CRM designs, develops and executes clinical research projects. The idea to create such a company came after she served in the U.S. Peace Corps in Togo, West Africa in the field of infectious disease control. While there, she experienced first-hand the devastating conditions that people of third world countries endure. After her return from Africa, she worked at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research where she identified and acted on an opportunity to help the Army with their preclinical, early and late stage clinical trials. These two experiences provided Tifft with the motivation to spend her life working towards the goal of providing treatments for diseases around the globe.

Tifft was recently selected as one of the Top Ten Woman Business Owners of Northeast Ohio for 2010 by The National Association of Women Business Owners of Cleveland (NAWBO). The NAWBO honors women business owners who have demonstrated excellence as a woman business owner, through initiative and creativity, professional accomplishments, contributions and community involvement.
