Umbrellas for Peace Exhibit - July 13 to August 9
Ursuline College’s Umbrellas for Peace exhibition features 65 hand-painted umbrellas by 65 different artists as well as 40 plus photographs showcase Ursuline Art Therapy Student Diane Fleisch Hughes’ Umbrellas for Peace project, an event held April 26. Ursuline was the first in Ohio to participate in this global art initiative, which was started by activist and artist Matt Lamb in 2002.
The exhibition will run through August 9, 2013. Community Center hours are Monday through Friday 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. and Sundays 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. An artist reception will be held from 1:30 to 3 p.m. July 21 at the Beachwood Community Center. The reception and exhibition are both free and open to the public.
