The New Masters: Women Artists of Northeast Ohiopicture of band playing at opening

Feb. 16 – March 23, 2018
As students of art history know, the "Old Masters" were the European painters regarded as the best artists before about 1800. And they were, for the most part, men. Ursuline College's Florence O'Donnell Wasmer Gallery turned that concept on its head this winter by inviting women artists of Northeast Ohio to submit artworks for a juried exhibition. More than 100 residents responded to the call.
