You will be celebrating your reunion in June and we look forward to seeing you as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Pepper Pike Campus. The years have flown by but hopefully your memories and the relationships you developed at Ursuline or at Saint John College remain strong today. In those college years, you developed lifelong friendships with each other and with caring faculty members who guided, encouraged and supported your growth spiritually, emotionally and intellectually. As many of you have often expressed, it was the Ursuline or Saint John College spirit that helped you to become the strong, caring individual you are today.
On the occasion of your reunion, it is customary for classes to make a generous gift to Ursuline College. Every gift is important and much needed by the College. This year several members of the Ursuline College class of 1966 made a generous reunion gift of $140,000. We are challenging all other reunion classes to collectively match this gift. Click here to make your matching gift.
Your contribution will help today’s students become tomorrow’s leaders. Your gift may be designated for any purpose such as the Annual Fund, the renovation of the chemistry lab (which will be named in honor of long-time Ursuline faculty member, Sister Ann Gertrude, O.S.U.), or for another program or area close to your heart. Join fellow classmates in demonstrating support for your alma mater.
Ursuline College continues the reputation of both Ursuline and Saint John College for excellence in the higher education of women. Graduates from these colleges serve our community as nurses, teachers, principals, chemists, business women, social workers, art therapists, counselors, ministers and other noble professionals. Many students were only able to obtain a college degree because of your generous support and other generous individuals throughout the years.
These are exciting and challenging times for Ursuline College. Sister Christine De Vinne, O.S.U., Ph.D. became our 17th president in July. The Parker Hannifin Center for the Creative and Healing Arts & Sciences and the Sister Diana Stano Athletic Center are filled with energy and excitement. These new venues provide students with state-of-the-art facilities and cutting-edge equipment giving them a competitive edge in today’s world. When you come to campus for your reunion, you will see and experience these facilities first-hand. Along with our new buildings, please visit the Cedar Hill Garden and the Saint John College Memorial Garden where the tradition and beauty of those two campuses will always be remembered.
Thank you for all that you continue to do for Ursuline College. Congratulations on another reunion year. I look forward to seeing you at this celebration in June. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at 440-684-6022.
