Federal Grants

Federal Pell Grant
A Federal Pell Grant is awarded to undergraduate students who have high financial need and have not earned a bachelors or professional degree. Grant amounts vary based on need and enrollment level (e.g. full time part-time, etc). Completion of the FAFSA is required to apply for this grant. The Pell Grant now has a lifetime limit amount of six full-time years or 12 full-time semesters (maximum percentage of 600%).  Any student reaching that limit will no longer be eligible to receive this grant, regardless of need.

Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (SEOG)
Federal SEOG funds are given to undergraduates with exceptional financial need. Priority is given to students who receive a Federal Pell Grant.

State Grants
State Grants (Ohio Residents)
The State of Ohio provides need-based grant funds to full and part-time students attending institutions in the state. Application for this grant is made through the FAFSA. The deadline for this grant is October 1st of the award year. Beginning in the 2009-10 academic year, this program replaces the previous Ohio Instructional Grant and Ohio College Opportunity Grant programs.
