Dr. Sharpnack is the Dean of the Breen School of Nursing. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Ursuline College. Her Maters of Science in Nursing is from The University of Akron, with a focus on Administration, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree is from CWRU, Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing with a focus in education. She is also a board-certified Nurse Educator and as an advanced nursing executive. She is a Fellow in the Academy of Nurse Educators.  Dr. Sharpnack. brings over 40 years of nursing experience to the Breen School, working in areas such as coronary and medical intensive care, home care and maternal – child nursing. Professional interests include: academic-practice partnerships, active learning/teaching strategies f, innovative clinical education models, competency development and testing, health care policy and cultural competence. Personal interests include gardening, reading and theatre.
