Mrs. Bruening is a faculty member in the Breen School of Nursing. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and Master of Science in Nursing degree with a focus on Education from Cleveland State University. She is also certified in high risk neonatal care. Mrs. Bruening brings over 39 years of nursing experience to the Breen School, working in areas such as maternal/newborn, orthopedic and cardiothoracic post-surgical care. Currently she is in practice caring for post-partum families and neonates with special needs. Professional interests include: relationship based care, lifelong learning, support for student utilization of learning platforms and resources readily available to them, and development of safe bedside nursing practice. Personal interests include reading, hawk identification and the harmonica.
