Honored past, Dedicated present, Brilliant future.
Welcome to The Breen School of Nursing-Undergraduate Program where many of the area’s finest nurses receive their baccalaureate education. We are honored to have the privilege to educate traditional, transfer, second degree students, and current registered nurses pursuing their Bachelor’s of Science in nursing degree.
The Breen School of Nursing (BSON) undergraduate program enjoys a rich history and solid reputation for its excellence and innovation in educating tomorrow’s nurses. In addition to being a proud recipient of the 2013 Hearst Award from the National League for Nursing, the BSON is one of the first in the country to integrate TeamSTEPPS™ team instruction throughout its curriculum. Together with these and many other unique educational opportunities, our students realize an appreciable competitive edge when they graduate.
With strong ties to the area’s world-renowned hospitals and health care facilities, students are provided with first-rate clinical experiences. Classrooms are innovative, interactive, and hands-on. Faculty, both outstanding teachers and expert clinicians, are committed to preparing clinically competent graduates who enter practice as effective team members, leaders, and scholars. Our newly revised curriculum emphasizes concepts and methods of application that help students develop important critical thinking skills as well as a systems-based approach to decision-making which are essential for practicing in today’s complex healthcare environment. The undergraduate nursing team encourages a collaborative teaching-learning environment that fosters scholarly inquiry, life- long learning, and respect.
We warmly invite you to explore our undergraduate nursing programs. Come visit. Experience the difference. Join the legacy! The road to a brilliant future in the nursing profession begins here at Ursuline.
