1. Impact on P-12 Learning and Development

Value Added Data

  • Ohio's value-added data system provides information on student academic gains. The information reported below is for those individuals reported in 2015, 2016, and 2017 by Ohio's Education Value-Added Assessment System. The value-added data is based on Elementary and Middle School Tests (Grades 4-8) and End of Course Tests for high school credit. Due to the system parameters excluding records with missing demographic data, some records have not been reported. Also, Ursuline graduates who teach in schools that do not report value-added data are not included in the data collection.

Ohio Teacher Evaluation System (OTES) Results for Ohio Teachers Prepared, Ursuline College, Reporting Period 2013-2016

  • Description of Data: Ohio's system for evaluating teachers (OTES) provides educators with a detailed view of their performance, with a focus on specific strengths and opportunities for improvement. The system is research-based and designed to be transparent, fair, and adaptable to the specific contexts of Ohio's school districts. Furthermore, it builds on what educators know about the importance of ongoing assessment and feedback as a powerful vehicle to support improved practice. Teacher performance and student academic growth are the two key components of Ohio's evaluation system.
  • Limitations of the OTES Data:
    1. The information in the report is for those individuals receiving their licenses with effective years of 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016.
    2. The teacher evaluation data in this report are provided by the Ohio Department of Education.
    3. Due to Ohio law, results must be masked for institutions with fewer than 10 completers with OTES data

Ohio Principal Evaluation System (OPES) Results for Ohio Principals Prepared, Ursuline College, Reporting Period 2016-2017

  • Description of Data: Ohio's system for evaluating principals (Ohio's Principal Evaluation System) provides building leaders with a detailed view of their performance, with a focus on specific strengths and opportunities for improvement.

Employer Satisfaction Surveys

  • Ursuline College is in the process of gathering data from principals employing Ursuline College graduates as to their satisfaction with the preparation of those currently working in their P-12 schools.

4. Satisfaction of Completers

Educator Preparation Program 

To gather information on alumni satisfaction with the quality of preparation provided by their educator preparation programs, the Ohio Department of Higher Education administers a survey aligned with the Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession (OSTP), Ohio licensure requirements, and elements of national accreditation. All Ohio Resident Educators who completed their preparation in Ohio receive an invitation to complete the survey in the fall semester as they enter Year 2 of the Resident Educator program. A total of 1,910 respondents completed the survey statewide for a response rate of 29 percent. For more information, click here. Principal Preparation Program

To gather information the quality of preparation provided by their educator preparation programs, the Ohio Department of Higher Education distributes a survey to individuals who serve as mentors to Ohio principal interns. Questions on the survey are aligned with the Ohio Standards for Principals, Ohio licensure requirements, and elements of national accreditation. 5. Graduation Rates

Undergraduate & MAP Candidate Graduation Rates

  • There are three gates which Undergraduate Education and MAP candidates must successfully complete in order to graduate from the Undergraduate or MAP programs. These gates are: 1) Admission to Teacher Education, 2) Admission to Clinical Practice, and 3) Program Completion. Educational Administration Graduation Rates

  • There are four gates through which Educational Administration candidates seeking a Principal License must successfully complete to exit the program. These gates are: 1) Admission to the Program, 2) Advancement in the Program, 3) Completion of Master's Degree, and 4) Completion of License Requirements or Master's and License Requirements. Please click here for data regarding the number of Educational Administration completers by gate for 2015-2018.

Grade Point Averages (GPAs) of Completers

  • One of the requirements to becoming a completer of any of the Ursuline Education programs is an exiting GPA, which varies among programs. Candidates at Ursuline College are measured on a 4.0 scale. For more information on the GPAs of Ursuline completers between 2012 and 2017, click here.

Ohio Assessment for Educators (OAE) Data

  • Praxis II measures candidate performance in both educational pedagogy (Principles of Learning and Teaching test) and content knowledge. Praxis II was replaced in September 2013 with the Ohio Assessments for Educators (OAEs).

According to the U.S. Department of Education, the teacher shortage areas for 2016-2017 for the state of Ohio are: Arts, English/Language Arts, Foreign Languages, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Special Education, Speech/Language Pathology, and TESOL.
