Mary Jo Cherry earned a B.S. in Elementary Education from Villa Maria College in Erie, PA, a M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education from the University of Maryland, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction: Early Childhood Education from Kent State University. She has taught young children in day-care, pre-school and kindergarten, and elementary, and has been a college faculty member for many years. She currently serves as director of the early childhood, adolescence/young adult (AYA), middle childhood, multi-age visual arts (MAVA) programs and student teaching, and she coordinates field and clinical placements. Her teaching expertise lies primarily in the field of early childhood education.
