The Sigma Tau Delta induction ceremony will be held on Friday, March 28, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. in the Mary Beaumont Dining Room, located in the Fritzsche Center. At the event, Natalie Huggins, Nneka Iheama, and Rihanna McChesney will be inducted. Also, the English Department awards will be presented at the event. Lauren Krozser will receive the English Award, which is presented to the graduating senior with the highest four-year grade point average in English, and the Publications Award, for her outstanding work on Inscape, Ursuline’s fine arts annual, over the years. Haley Tinlin will receive the Drama Award, for her outstanding work in Drama Workshop over the years. Following a serving of beverages and desserts, Professor Emerita Sr. Mary Denis Maher will present "Letters and Diaries Tell the Story: Catholic Sister Nurses in the U.S. Civil War." Sr. Mary Denis taught in the English Department for many years, so it will be delightful to have her back on campus and meeting the latest generation of students. Take a Break with a Book will be held on April 7, 2014 at noon in Mullen 213. Please attend and don't forget to bring your lunch and a book that you have read recently!
The Senior Research Seminar students will be presenting the results of their research on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 3 p.m. in Mullen 313. The public is welcome to attend.
