Janet Kolesar earned her A.B. at Seton Hill College and her M.A. from Duke University. She has been teaching at Ursuline since 1976.
Janet Kolesar was trained as a geneticist; however, she has enjoyed teaching many courses at Ursuline. She regularly teaches Anatomy and Physiology to Nursing students, and runs the Senior Departmental Seminar in Evolution. She has taught nearly all of the classes in biology; currently she is faculty for the above courses and Immunology. She enjoys working with and introducing model organisms to Ursuline students: Drosophila melanogaster (fruit flies) Danio (zebrafish), and Caenorhabditis elegans, (roundworm).
Janet is an active member of the music ministry of her church, St. Pascal Baylon. Additionally, she and her husband Dennis serve in the Couple Ministry Program for the Cleveland Diocese, mostly at her parish. They have been doing this for 15 years and have met with almost 100 couples who come to their home for 2-3 hour meetings, three times over a 6-8 week period.
Janet Kolesar describes herself as a helpless Cavs fan, Browns fan and Indians fan, with various combination of season tickets to these events. She and her husband Dennis enjoy bicycling, theatre, and travel, (one of the highpoints of their travels was a trip to Down House, the home of the naturalist Charles Darwin, in Kent, England). They have been subscribers to the Cleveland Orchestra concerts for over 40 years as classical music is Janet's passion. The Kolesars have three children and 14 grandchildren!

Jenise M. Snyder received a B.S. in Biology Education (2000) and M.S. in Biology (2004) from Florida International University, as well as a Ph.D. in Ecology from the University of California, Davis (2014). At Ursuline College, she teaches a variety of courses including Introductory Biology, Ecology, Human Environment, Clinical Microbiology and Water and Society. She also co-teaches a summer abroad course in Guatemala on lake and human ecology through the University of California, Davis. Her research specialization is in wetland and aquatic ecology, specifically addressing the impact of anthropogenic nutrient enrichment on plant and soil communities and the cycling of nutrients within those systems. Students working with Dr. Snyder have been examining the effect of the restoration of Ursuline campus stream on water quality, as well as the effect of ecosystem management on decomposition following the tornado’s disturbance on Ursuline’s forest. In addition to teaching, Dr. Snyder is the faculty advisor for the Green Organize in Action student organization.

Lynn Ulatowski graduated in 1991 with a BS in Molecular Biology/Biotechnology from Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA. In 2003 she earned a MS in Nutrition from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, and in 2012, graduated with a PhD in Molecular Nutrition from Case Western Reserve University. Her Dissertation topic was: Regulation of Vitamin E and Tocopherol Transfer protein, for which she received the Academic Excellence Award. From 2012-2015 Lynn worked as a Post-doctoral fellow at Case Western Reserve University, researching Vitamin E transport in the central nervous system, which is particularly relevant to oxidative stress associated diseases like Alzheimer's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and Down's Syndrome. Her research also includes delineating how modifications of Tiam1 GEF influences activation of Rho GTPases and progression of colon cancer. This research aims to develop therapeutic inhibitors of Tiam1 to attenuate tumorgenesis.
Lynn has served as adjunct faculty at Notre Dame College, Cuyahoga Community College, and Case Western Reserve University.
